Participation of Russian specialists in the work of the 45 session of CIGRE and technical exhibition in Paris

On August 25, 2014 the 45 CIGRE Session at the Paris Palais des Congrès was opened. This event being participated by more than 3200 multidisciplinary specialists is marked by intensive discussion on a number of strategic and technical issues necessary to further the harmonious and effective development of the global electricity industry taking into account modern requirements and trends.

Let's remind you the main topics of the 45 CIGRE session:

environment-conditioned equipment design;
maintenance, repair and equipment life extension;
real time equipment and system monitoring;
DC solution development;
coordination between grid and system operators;
public acceptance and public approval of equipment;
renewables integration;
active distribution systems;
information systems.

Russian specialists also take active part in the work of all thematic areas and sections. To discuss with foreign colleagues they presented reports on new developments and technologies in the design and use of power transformers and shunt reactors in networks, construction of modern highly reliable high voltage transmission lines and substations. Moreover, Russian experts will share their vision of building emergency control systems, the experience in application of various diagnostic technologies and methods of evaluating the effectiveness of grid and asset management companies. Topical issues of small distributed power cogeneration sources integration into the network are not forgotten. The outcome of this discussion will be published in the next edition of the magazine "ELECTRIC POWER. Transmission and distribution".

But the increased interest of all participants in the first day of work was confined to the joint Russian exposition, which was solemnly opened on the premises of the technical fair embracing three floors of the Palais des Congrès. In such a format and in such a number of domestic companies in the electricity sector are for the first time at CIGRE sessions. This unique presentation of world achievements of Russian enterprises was made possible thanks to the FSBI REA of Ministry of energy of Russia.

Magazine ""ELECTRIC POWER. Transmission and distribution" is the general information partner of the joint Russian exposition.

The opening ceremony of the Russian joint exhibition was attended by Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Kravchenko, CEO of "Rossetti" Oleg Budargin and Acting Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in France Mikhail Safronov.

Among the invited guests at the opening were the heads of the largest power companies in Russia, as well as top managers of the leading world manufacturers of electric materials and equipment, representatives of design institutes and institutions of higher education.

In his welcoming speech to  the event participants Vyacheslav Kravchenko noted the significance and authority of such international event as 45 Session of the International Council on Large Electric Systems High Voltage (CIGRE) and also drew attention to the unique composition and scale of the Russian delegation attended the session and exhibition this year. Vyacheslav Kravchenko expressed confidence that the participating in such an event Russian companies will get the most use and achieve the desired results in further development of the electricity industry.

General Director of Rossetti Oleg Budargin said: "Today we begin a new history of cooperation with CIGRE thanks to the active position of the Ministry of Energy. The Russian delegation, indeed, one of the largest and most diverse participant in the event. I am confident that the performance of such a team led by the Ministry will allow us to take a comprehensive approach to solving problems of reliability increase program and create a team of like-minded people to address the issues of modernization and development of power industry of Russia. "

Mikhail Safronov welcomed the attendees  on behalf of the Trade Representation of Russia in France and noted the strong and extensive trade and business contacts, historically established between Russia and France. Our countries have serious joint investment projects, including in the energy sector, and this cooperation is given a lot of attention from the state. CIGRE in 2014 according to Mikhail Safronov will give an additional impetus to new investment projects and contacts between Russia and France.

Joint Russian exposition included the following participants: Russian-French Centre for Energy Efficiency, JSC NTC FGC UES, LLC IQ Systems, group of companies "Micronika-LISIS", LLC "Eurocontract - High-voltage equipment", representatives of the Kazan State Power Engineering University, LLC PMK Sibiri, CJSC Profotech , JSC Power Machines, Ltd. TATKABEL, ZAO GC Tavrida Electric, LLC TsentrEnergoStroyProekt, LLC Scientific-Production Center Energoavtomatika, LLC Enrgoservice, LLC YUMEK Group, JSC SuperOx and others.

Magazine ELECTRIC POWER. Transmission and Distribution presented the international community a special English-language edition which includes articles by Russian specialists on  45 CIGRE Sessions to acquaint  foreign counterparts with the achievements and experiences of domestic companies in their respective fields.
In addition, on August 25-26 implementing the principles of openness and sharing of experiences, specialized Russian sections for foreign colleagues on the following topics were conducted.

Technological partnership and integration of the Russian power in the processes of technological globalization.

Investment potential of the Russian power sector.

Prospects for cooperation in the field of energy saving, energy efficiency and renewable energy.

This informative event is of great significance for Russian and foreign experts in finding common approaches and standards, meet the needs and capabilities of either party. It is performed under the supervision and with direct participation of the Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Kravchenko.
