Himachal plant cables for Indian Railways

Cable manufacturer CMI Ltd., a Faridabad based company that began production at its new facility at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh, on Monday announced that it had tied up a supply agreement with the Indian Railways.Himachal firm to supply cables to railways/

The total business from the supply of the cables to railways would be Rs.1,000 to Rs.1,500 crore per annum.

“Indian Railways is one of our biggest customers. We will supply the entire range of signalling, telecom, quad cables, indoor signalling and wires for high-voltage traction on electrified tracks,” said a company statement quoting company’s managing director Amit Jain.

CMI Ltd, the BSE listed cables manufacturer, this month announced beginning of production at its new facility in Baddi here.

The facility is part of the recently-acquired General Cable Energy Private Ltd from General Cable Corporation.

Besides Indian Railways, CMI Ltd lists NTPC, Indian Oil Corp, ISRO, Tata Steel, L&T, BSNL and Bharat Electronic among others as its clients.
